Hoses for upright vacuums are typically stored on-board and are non-electric. They are designed to using attachments such as a floor brush, dust brush, upholstery tool or crevice tool to clean baseboards, upholstery, table tops and other surfaces near the floor surface that is being cleaned with the upright.
Hoses for canister vacuums are always connected to the canister and hold the chosen cleaning wand and attachment. Some canister hoses have electric wire integrated in the hose that provides power for an electric powerhead.
